1) When you scout for planets, ideally you want to make them about 70 systems apart. This is because lvl 6 lanx is relatively cheap, and scans 35 systems.... so two planets 70 systems apart get full coverage with no overlap. This is a good thing.
2) If you see two hold positions in the lanx report, the first one tells you how long until the fleet ARRIVES at the hold planet. The second tells you how long until the fleet returns to the original planet. Note that, other than sending an ESP, you can not tell if the fleet is actually present when only one hold order shows on the report (and you can not tell how long it will be there).
3) Attacking: When timing a hit, plan your fleet to arrive at a location exactly 8-9 seconds after theirs does (this is for attacking, not defending). Any earlier and fog will kick you in the butt. Any longer and you risk the target moving their fleet again. Plan recs to arrive between 12-15 seconds after his fleet arrives (4-6 seconds after your hit). This will reduce your odds of getting scooped.
4) Defending: Plan the arrival for about 10 seconds before he hits. Even if he scouts (if he lanx's and he is intelligent, he will recall no matter what) he will not have time to recall (most of us scout when our clock hits about 00:01:05 before hit). Exception: Some of the better players (like me) will actually acs an ESP to our fleet 20 seconds before hit, then scout for when our fleet was suppossed to arrive. Then we can see if we were going to be ninjad. If your not online, we still bash you 1 minute later.
